Former “singing” priest Tony Walsh faces a maximum sentence of two years in prison for raping a boy with a crucifix, a court has heard.

Anthony Walsh (62) committed the offence and two other rapes of the same victim before the Criminal Law (Rape) Amendment Act came into effect in 1990, meaning that the maximum penalty the judge can impose on each offence is two years. Continue reading

You never know when the zombie apocalypse might strike, so it’s a good thing that the Pentagon is training military nurses how to respond in such a situation.

At the Uniformed Services University of the Healthcare Sciences, military nursing students are required to take a population health course to earn a family nurse practitioner doctorate. The online population health course in this program has students working through a number of creative scenarios, one of which is a zombie pandemic.

Nurse suspended from job, facing disciplinary action for refusing to administer children expired vaccines

A nurse from northern Morocco recently refused to administer a large amount of vaccines to children at the Rural Health Center in Al Hoceima. The nurse stopped administering the injections because she was concerned that the lots had expired and would cause further medical complications for the children. In fact, the vaccines in question had been stored in an unsuitable environment. The vaccines were not handled properly, and over heated to 18 degrees Celsius, which is 10 degrees above the legal limit. This temperature change most likely rendered the vaccines even more dangerous than what they already were. This nurse did the right thing and kept the injections out of the children. China has just got its first airport facial recognition system, reports Shanghai Daily.

Biometric Airport Security Debuts in ChinaThe system was developed by domestic company Shanghai Doudian Technologies, in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Security’s Third Research Institute. The system takes travelers’ photos at security checkpoints within the airport, linking their faces to their boarding passes. All Israelis Will Have to Join Biometric Database From Next Year, Minister Says

Interior Minister Arye Dery announced on Thursday that starting next year, joining the biometric database will be obligatory.
“From now on anyone obtaining a document from the Interior Ministry, whether an ID card or a passport, will receive a biometric one.
