Pope Francis said Sunday that Jesus is not looking for “perfect Christians” or those who “never doubt.” … “By telling us the story of Thomas,” Francis said, “the Gospel tells us that the Lord is not looking for perfect Christians. The Lord is not looking for perfect Christians.” “I am afraid when I see a Christian, some associations of Christians who believe themselves to be perfect,” he continued. “The Lord is not looking for perfect Christians; the Lord is not looking for Christians who never doubt and always flaunt a steadfast faith.” – SOURCE.

As prophesied, the “man of sin” of the Vatican has again blasphemed our Creator God and will continue to do so by lowering God’s standard of character–perfection. He will continue to twist God’s word imitating and echoeing that “old serpent” the devil who speaketh lies from the beginning, so that those who don’t read, study, and obey their Bible will fall a prey.

The truth is, when you read carefully and prayerfully the story of Thomas, Jesus reproved him for doubting the testimony of his brethren who have seen the resurrected Saviour and his example should not be followed by any obedient Christian…

“Jesus accepted his acknowledgment, but mildly rebuked him for his unbelief: “Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou has believed; blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.” (John 20:29) Jesus here showed Thomas that his faith would have been more acceptable to him if he had believed the evidence of his brethren, and had not refused to believe until he had seen Jesus with his own eyes. If the world should follow this example of Thomas, no one would believe unto salvation; for all who now receive Christ do so through the testimony of others.” – 3SP 221.2

We are also commanded by Jesus to strive for perfection of character when He says in –

Matthew 5:48, “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.”

Concerning this perfection Paul writes:

Philippians 3:12  “Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 3:15  “Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.”

Hebrew 6:1  “…let us go on unto perfection; “

2Corinthians 13:11  “Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect,”

Noah and Job served as an example that perfection is possible in our life.

Genesis 6:9  “… Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.
Job 1:1  “… Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.”

God desires us to reach the standard of perfection made possible for us by the gift of Christ. May God help us to reach this perfection! God bless!
