Pope Francis Urges Buddhists to ‘Ecological Conversion’

ROME — Pope Francis urged a delegation of Cambodian Buddhists to conversion this week not to Christianity, but to environmental responsibility. In his address to Buddhists in the Vatican Thursday, the pontiff did not utter the name of Jesus, but four times he insisted on the need for “ecological conversion” as the common call for both Buddhists and Christians alike. “*Ecological conversion * happens when the human roots of the present environmental crisis are named,” the pope contended, and “when true repentance leads to the slowing or halting of trends, ideologies and practices that are hurtful and disrespectful to the earth.” Source.

The report stated that the pope “did not utter the name of Jesus, but four times he insisted on the need for ecological conversion as the common call.”

Of course, the pope will not mention Jesus at all for conversion since the pope said that converting nonbelievers to Christianity is a pagan activity. Ironically, Catholicism is a professed Christian where paganism is found and the Vatican and Buddhism has been a friend for so long, the pope praised Buddhism in 1995:

Pontiff praises Buddhism

Declaring he had come as a “friend from Rome,” an exhausted Pope John Paul II offered a message of religious harmony… Buddhist leaders have threatened to disrupt the visit unless the pope apologize for passages… that they view as critical of their religions doctrine of salvation. As he did before leaving Rome Jan. 11, John Paul issued conciliatory remarks… Daily Southtown Jan. 22, 1995 p. A11

Now, what does “Ecological conversion” also means?

Ecological conversion also means dealing with time differently, both as an individual and as a society. We need to rediscover the “rhythm of time the alternation between work and rest with Sunday as the commonly shared weekly day of rest.” Times of Malta

In other words, the common call of the pope is actually a call to rest on SUNday. Prophecy pointed out that “all the world wondered after the beast” in Revelation 13:3. The “mark of the beast” is soon to be enforced.

On the other hand, what the pope is NOT telling is the Bible’s common call of True repentance of turning away from our wicked ways, forsaking our sins and God’s promise to heal.

2Chronicles 7:14  “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is soon to come and we must have a clean heart from our sins and be ready! Let us all repent of our sins and be converted to God for His kingdom is nigh!

Are you ready? Are you sure?!
