(NaturalNews) When parents learn that their child is autistic, a number of questions start running through their minds: What does this mean for my child’s future? Will it hurt their educational and career prospects? Will they be able to live a normal life? What can I do to help?
While it’s easy for parents of autistic children to imagine the hurdles they might encounter, Dr. Kathleen Levinstein is facing one challenge that would never even enter most people’s minds: Her daughter is being mutilated by her doctor because she wants to be a transgender boy, and there is nothing her mother can do to stop it.
When Dr. Levinstein’s daughter told her several years ago that she was a lesbian, the professor, who describes herself as left-of-center politically, did not have any problem with it. After seeing a transgender boy on the TV show Degrassi, however, her daughter decided that she wanted to become one too, and that’s where her mother drew the line.
After all, her daughter – whose given name is Ruth but who now goes by Ryan – is autistic, and has the mental capacity of a 9-year-old. Dr. Levinstein, who is a clinical social worker, and has professionally performed psychological evaluations for 40 years, is speaking out about the transgender movement’s willingness to recruit kids who are disabled, and the lack of a proper medical review prior to approving autistic kids for gender reassignment procedures.
“I am a lone voice in the academic and social work world speaking out against the [transgender] transitioning of autistic people, what I feel to be both a crime against the disabled as well as their sterilization.”
Now she is facing so much backlash for her stance that her health, decorated career and retirement savings are all at risk. She has even been receiving hateful letters and death threats.
Girl’s transition approved after just two meetings with ‘gender therapist’
She is particularly outraged that her daughter’s “gender therapist” green-lighted the girl’s transition after just two meetings. American Psychological Association guidelines call for an evaluation lasting a year before sex change surgery moves forward. Dr. Levinstein feels her daughter’s case was fast-tracked because the therapists and doctors involved knew the family’s medical insurance would pay for the pricey process.
She notes: “This gender specialist never reviewed any of the Special Ed records or spoke to my daughter’s previous therapist, who had known her for a decade. And, crucially, she never asked my daughter, ‘Might you be a lesbian?'”
Her daughter underwent a double mastectomy a year ago. Levinstein likens doctors cutting off the breasts of a person who is mentally incapable of making such as decision to “medical torture.” Her daughter is also receiving massive testosterone injections that will help her “grow a penis.”
Her first batch of testosterone had 30 pages of warnings noting that the risks of the treatment are unknown. Ruth/Ryan, who also has Crohn’s disease, has even been hospitalized a few times because of absorption issues stemming from the testosterone treatment.
Sex changes in children a form of child abuse
The American College of Pediatrics has called sex changes in children a type of child abuse, saying that forcing “a life of chemical and surgical impersonation of the opposite sex” on children is bad for them.
Dr. Levinstein also points out that there is an overlap between the autistic and transgender populations. She notes that some studies have indicated higher levels of testosterone in those with autism, which can convert to estrogen in males. This, she feels, could help explain the high numbers of autistic people of both genders claiming to be transgender.
Parents who are raising autistic children already face enough challenges without having to deal with doctors who want to mutilate their children. And the problem is only likely to grow as the numbers of people with autism continue to rise.
This is why many parents are taking a stand against the vaccines, pesticides and other environmental toxins that are responsible for some forms of autism. People are increasingly concerned about the toxins they could be consuming, which is spurring demand for services like those offered by the Consumer Wellness Center Labs. CWC Labs specializes in analytical testing of food and supplements, and can help uncover pesticides in processed foods, mercury in vaccines, and many other toxins. SOURCE
