Pope Opens Vatican Door to Grant Absolution from Sins for 2025

On December 24, 2024, the pope opened the Vatican’s Holy Door on St. Peter’s Basilica. The news report says that “This will mark the start of the 2025 Jubilee, a year of forgiveness, reconciliation, and spiritual renewal. Catholics who confess their sins during this time receive absolution, freeing them from eternal or spiritual punishment.”

The Vatican issued a decree in May on how to obtain a plenary indulgence during the Jubilee by making a pilgrimage to Rome, by doing acts of penance like abstaining from social media for at least one day a week and donating money to poor, and so on, which will free them from purgatory (which Rome invented to control the people). The pope’s jubilee theme is “Hope” and he hopes to have a common date of easter for all religions in 2025. You can read more information on my earlier blog about the pope’s agenda for 2025.

Catholics believe the Doctrine of Indulgences is the truth because they place more trust in Popes and their prelates than in God’s Word. History, on the other hand, shows that this tradition turned into a big business for the Catholic Church. Following the pope’s declaration in the year 1300, about 2 million people made the pilgrimage to St. Peter’s and deposited so much treasure at the supposed tomb of St. Peter that two priests with rakes were kept busy day and night raking up the money. Yes, the church made lots of money. But the pope used much of this to enrich his relatives. The people in Rome hated this.

The Vatican recently reported that it’s on the brink of bankruptcy due to dramatic decline in global donations under the current pope. But what happened to the $10 Trillion he received in 2020? Well, only God knows, and by their fruits we shall know them. History repeats itself. Just imagine the Catholic church has now at least 1.3 billion members who would make pilgrimages to Rome and other “sacred places” around the world. Find out the cost of entering the Vatican and do the math. Are you shocked?

The truth is, the Doctrine of Indulgences is NOT taught in the Bible. No amount of money or good works can buy grace for sinners, like me and you and everybody!

Acts 8:20-22 says, “But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. (21) Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God. (22) Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.”

We have to repent and confess our sins to be forgiven, 1 John 1:9, but NOT to pope or priests, or any man, but only to God, through Jesus our Advocate with the Father, 1 John 2:1. The only definition of Sin in the Bible is “transgression of the law.” 1 John 3:4. That law is no other than the Ten Commandments written by the finger of God, with the Seventh-day Sabbath being its seal.

Remember, Christ’s blood purifies us from our past sins, but does not grant indulgences for future sin.

Romans 3:23-25 says “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; (24) Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: (25) Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;”

This is what the Spirit of Prophecy says about the doctrine of indulgences.

“Still another fabrication was needed to enable Rome to profit by the fears and the vices of her adherents. This was supplied by the doctrine of indulgences. Full remission of sins, past, present, and future, and release from all the pains and penalties incurred, were promised to all who would enlist in the pontiff’s wars to extend his temporal dominion, to punish his enemies, or to exterminate those who dared deny his spiritual supremacy. The people were also taught that by the payment of money to the church they might free themselves from sin, and also release the souls of their deceased friends who were confined in the tormenting flames. By such means did Rome fill her coffers, and sustain the magnificence, luxury, and vice of the pretended representatives of Him who had not where to lay his head. { 4SP 62.3 }
The scriptural ordinance of the Lord’s supper had been supplanted by the idolatrous sacrifice of the mass. Papist priests pretended, by their senseless mummery, to convert the simple bread and wine into the actual body and blood of Christ. With blasphemous presumption, they openly claimed the power to “create their Creator.” All Christians were required, on pain of death, to avow their faith in this horrible, Heaven-insulting heresy. Those who refused were given to the flames.” { 4SP 63.1 }

Reformers like Huss and Luther denounced this corrupt tradition and were persecuted and excommunicated for opposing the power of the man of sin of Rome. This will also happen to true Bible-believing Christians of today who preaches the truth, exposes the errors, and warning the people of the coming religious laws.

2 Timothy 3:12 “Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.”

Are you willing to suffer for Christ’s sake? Are you ready? Are you sure?!
