Season of the witch: Media cheer growth in occultism

magic“Witchcraft is becoming mainstream in America. “Wiccan witchcraft is now one of the fastest growing religions in the Hudson Valley,” reported News 12 Westchester in New York. A “third-degree Wiccan high priestess” was quoted as saying the religion is a “mysterious, feminist and nature-focused religion that rewards faith and patience with magic … capable of things like curing illnesses, getting a raise at work and helping people find love.” –Source

None of which happen thanks to the incantation of a witch at all. But the moment one of their deceived clients report back on a possible occurrence of good luck thanks to the witches spell, one can rest assured the witch will milk that single occurrence so as to catapult their effectiveness before their future clientele. And for those clients that have yet to have their bought and paid for “spells” work, a few more dollars will no doubt be the remedy the situation. Will it work to gain more people into their web of deceit? Sure it will! Don’t believe me? Ask how well it works for Joel Osteen, Pat Robertson, Jim Bakker and a host of other prosperity preachers that actually perform the same ritual before the people. The only difference being of course is that the witch is a tad more honest by not adding the name of Jesus into the cauldron.   Continue reading

The theological differences that led to the Protestant Reformation 500 years ago have dwindled since in both the United States and Western Europe.

That’s the finding of a Pew Research Center survey released Thursday (Aug. 31), weeks before late October’s 500th anniversary of the schism in western Christianity. Continue reading

Pope Francis reveals for first time that he consulted a psychoanalyst to ‘clarify a few things’

POPE FPope Francis has revealed, for the first time, that he sought help from a psychoanalyst when he was younger.

He is believed to be the first Pope in history to have visited a psychoanalyst – or at least to have admitted to it.

In a new book, he says that at the age of 42 – decades before he was made Pope – he went to a psychiatrist in Buenos Aires in his native Argentina for six months.

Jorge Mario Bergoglio, as the Pope was known then, was at the time the head of the Jesuit order in Argentina.

“At a certain point, I felt the need to consult an analyst. For six months, I went to her house once a week to clarify a few things,” he revealed in the book, Pope Francis: Politics and Society.

He did not specify exactly what “things” he wanted to clarify or why he felt the need to seek psychiatric help but he did say the treatment was successful.

“In those six months, she really helped me,” he said. “She was a wonderful person,” the 81-year-old pontiff said.

At the time – around 1978 or 1979 – Argentina was ruled by a military dictatorship and for many people there was much to worry about, with political repression and forced disappearances.

At first when I heard this I was a bit apprehensive to post it seeing how the conspiracy theorists are presently coming out of the woodwork; and rightly so since politicians from both sides of the isle are doing things illegally to try and push their own agenda, and the people are caught in the crossfire. But then I came across this video of a man, who most assuredly could be described as someone who could rightly have a dog in this fight, exposing it all as a hoax. Better yet, at the end of this very short video you hear Fox News talking about it as well.   Continue reading

Canada Bans ‘Anti-Sharia’ Gay Pride Float Because ‘Islamophobia’

GettyImages-544406234-640x480The western Canadian city of Vancouver has banned an “anti-Sharia” float at this year’s pride parade saying that the sentiment expressed by the Middle Eastern men behind it is “Islamophobic”.

The float, which is run by a gay activist group of Middle Eastern origin men and transgenders named Cirque de So Gay, took part in the Vancouver pride parade in 2011. The activists applied for a place in this year’s pride parade but were denied by organisers, who told them that the float could be seen as “culturally insensitive”, the Vancouver Sun reports.   Continue reading

Evangelicals Assailed for Affirming Biblical Morality on Sex in ‘Nashville Statement’

traditional-wedding-640x480A new manifesto by leading Evangelical Christians has drawn fire for its embrace of traditional sexual morality based on biblical norms.

The declaration, billed as the “Nashville Statement” and signed by more than 150 Evangelical leaders, reaffirms Christian teaching on God’s creation of human beings as male and female, an assertion that flies in the face of recent attempts to proclaim a nearly infinite “gender fluidity” based on “autonomous preferences.”   Continue reading

Zimbabwe’s Catholic bishops say ‘it’s a sin not to vote,’ urge people to eject ruling party

zimbabwes-catholic-bishopsA pastoral letter from the Roman Catholic Church bishops has urged all Zimbabweans, especially young people, to register and vote in their numbers in the upcoming 2018 polls, seen as a watershed election.

Reading a letter on behalf of the bishops to congregants after a church service at St. James Catholic church in Emerald Hill, Harare on Aug. 20, Father Rungano Muchineripi said it is a sin not to vote.

“Men and women of God are getting tired of praying for issues to do with politics and the suffering of people due to bad governance, so it is high time Christians put their efforts together in registering to vote, choosing a people oriented government which is not evil, AllAfrica.com reported.   Continue reading
